Synopsis:

"Youth" tells the story of Roberto (Riccardo Scamarcio), an ambitious young lawyer who is about to marry Sara (Valeria Solarino), and his overwhelming encounter with the beautiful, provocative and mysterious Micol (Laura Chiatti), with the to discover a reality outside of time, suspended between quirky characters and irresistible temptations.

"Maturity". Fabio (Carlo Verdone), a prominent television presenter, faithful husband for twenty-five years, is swept by a sudden and fatal encounter. The intriguing Eliana (Donatella Finocchiaro) is not who he claims to be. A whim becomes for him a tragicomic adventure: will not be easy to get rid of it!

"BEYOND". Adrian (Robert De Niro) is an American professor of art history, from a few years ago, after divorcing his wife, decides to live in Rome, a city that has always loved. Reserved and solitary, is treated with a few people, which account Augusto (Michele Placido), the doorman of the building where he lives. Maybe it's the only one who has revealed his secret: seven years before he underwent a delicate heart transplant. The explosive encounter with the daughter of Augustus, Viola (Monica Bellucci), alter their quiet existence and bring it to life sensations that had long been appeased and emotions that are new to him ...

The theme of the amorous adventures of the protagonists is an emblematic figure: the driver Cupid (Emanuele Propizio).

"MADUREZ". Fabio (Carlo Verdone), un prestigioso presentador de televisión, marido fiel desde hace veinticinco años, se ve arrastrado por un encuentro imprevisto y fatal. La intrigante Eliana (Donatella Finocchiaro) no es quien dice ser. Un simple capricho se convertirá para él en una aventura tragicómica: ¡no será nada fácil librarse de ella!

"MÁS ALLÁ". Adrian (Robert De Niro) es un profesor norteamericano de historia del arte que, desde hace unos años, después de haberse divorciado de su mujer, decide vivir en Roma, una ciudad que siempre le ha gustado. Reservado y solitario, se trata con pocas personas, entre las cuales se cuenta Augusto (Michele Placido), el portero del edificio en el que vive. Quizá es el único al que le ha revelado su secreto: siete años antes sufrió una intervención muy delicada de trasplante de corazón. El fulminante encuentro con la hija de Augusto, Viola (Monica Bellucci), alterará su tranquila existencia y lo llevará a vivir sensaciones que llevaban mucho tiempo apaciguadas y emociones que son nuevas para él...

El hilo conductor de las peripecias amorosas de los protagonistas es un personaje emblemático: el taxista Cupido (Emanuele Propizio).
