This is the story of a young witch named Kiki who has come of age, and in her mandatory year of independent life must journey to find a new community. At first it is difficult for her to take on the world, but she soon manages to support herself by running an air courier service. Her headstrong, resourceful, imaginative, and determined attitude win her friends in the new community, and with the help of her trusty wisp of a talking cat named Jiji by her side she faces the trial which will determine her future.
